Testimonials:

"I had a terrible scar across my head that was a result of a surgical procedure. It was a thin linear scar that ran from my left ear all the way over to my right ear. I went to several hair transplant doctors who frankly stated that they wouldn't be able to correct this condition, without giving me a transplant scar. Most people who keep their hair short are at an extreme disadvantage when it comes to (HT's). Black men in particular benefit greatly from micropigmentation procedures.

I tried all the gimmicks (Topix, Dermamatch etc..) none of which worked as well as having micropigmentation done. I was lucky to find a practitioner in Atlanta (Cheryl Rosenblum)who was able to correct my problem. For those of you who haven't tried this procedure, I urge you to explore it."

"After 3 hair transplants I was left with a distinct and visible scar. I resorted to spray concealer to camouflage its appearance. One day searching the internet I found Cheryl's site and went in for an appointment. Today my scar's appearance is minimized enough that I no longer wear any concealer which affords me much less maintenance since concealing my scar is no longer part of my daily routine. The process was fairly simple and healed quickly and the pain associated with the tattoo process was minimal. I would recommend this to anyone looking to improve their transplant scar."

"Thank you so much for helping me hide my waffle scars! After several transplants I was left with unsightly scars. When my hair was wet, these scars were quite visible, and I had to use hair makeup. I am very happy with the results and I am no longer using makeup to cover the scars. It took a few sessions, it healed easy, and was painless with just slight swelling. I would recommend for any man that is using makeup to cover scars or hide light balding spots."

Thanks always.

"Just wanted to update you on my hair shading procedure. I am loving it! No more makeup that keeps messing up my shirts and pillow cases. It took about 3 procedures buy I have finally eliminated the makeup. The tattoo worked great! I will tell my mother, she has a balding spot on the side of her head and she can not wait to get this done. Being African American, the shading works fantastic! Keep up the great work. My sister is a hair dresser and she can not believe it."

"Thanks so much for checking on me. Everything is looking good and it has been three years! The waffle scars left from the hair transplants have almost diminished. I never thought I would be able to shave my head, but thanks to you, I was able to. I will be back in the states in about 6 months and will let you take a look."

"It has been 3 sessions and I have almost eliminated makeup from my head. As I mentioned, I did not have enough donor hair for my hair transplant and although I love my hair transplant, I still had some light spots that I filled in with makeup. One more session should do it. I feel so confident, and go without any makeup 80% of the time!"

"Wow, I am very pleased and can finally put my hair up! After years of trying to hide the scars that were left on my head (from my face and brow lift) I can finally not worry and put my hair up for the holidays! Thank you so much, I can not wait to show my plastic surgeon. He said that there was nothing that could be done. Your head shading did not hurt at all, and was not noticeable afterward. Just a little sore for a day. It has taken 2 sessions and I could put my hair up after the first session. I will let you check it again after about 6 months, as you suggested."

Questions and Answers

1. Who are candidates and how do I get started?

Answer:
Men and woman with head scars, and African American men and women with hair loss. Also, if you are able to cover the bald area with makeup, this could be ideal for you. This is a wonderful alternative for hair transplants, and is perfect for covering bald spots from chemical burns, weaves, braids… You need to email us a photo, so we can review your person situation.

2. Does Artistic Hair Simulation look natural?

Answer:
Yes, If a experienced person is doing this, and if you are a candidate. If not, you can look very unnatural.. Check out their credentials, and make sure that they have many photos and that the actual person performing the Artistic Hair Simulation , has years of experience. This is a tattoo, and is not easily removed.

3. Is this permanent?

Answer:
Legally, we must use the term permanent, which is confusing, because it will fade over time, unless it is black, which means it will take a longer time to fade. The lighter colours fade quicker. Areas that have a scar, will fade quicker, because a scar is not healthy tissue, and does not hold the ink as well as healthy skin. In order to look more natural, the ink is not implanted as deep as a Traditional Tattoo, therefore could fade quicker. This is done with very small needles to achieve a natural look. Ask any good tattoo artist, and they will confirm that: the lighter colours fade quicker, and may require touch ups. A lot depends on how you take care of your scalp. All tattoos fade over time.

4. Is this a one time procedure?

Answer:
No, it can take several times depending on what you want to achieve. Some head scars can reject up to 50% of the ink after the first session. If this is not an area that has a scar, sessions will be minimal. If a photo is emailed, we can give you an estimate of how many sessions and what the cost is.

5. How much is this cost?

Answer:
Cost will depend on how many sessions. You can email a photo, and we can discuss your goals. Once a few questions are answered, we can tell you the cost. This is very affordable.

6.  Will this hurt?

Answer:
It depends on who is doing the procedure. If they are heavy handed, and not skilled, it can be very painful. When done properly, you will feel very minimal pain, which will feel like tiny pin pricks. We have a numbing cream available for those that are sensitive on their scalp. We will do everything possible to make you comfortable.

7. Do I need to shave my head?

Answer: It depends on what you want to achieve. If you are wanting to hide a hair transplant scar, or head scar, and are using makeup, there is no reason to shave your head. If you are looking to hide bald spots and do not have scars, you would want to shave. If you have had a hair transplant, and wish to enhance an area, you would not need to shave. It is best to email a photo, or call to discuss your goals, and we will tell you.

8. I have scars on my head. Can Artistic Hair Shading help? I am wearing a hat or covering my scar with makeup?

Answer:
This will help make them less noticeable, and you will see an improvement. This can take several sessions, because scars do not hold the ink the same way as normal skin.

9. I have scars on my head from a transplant, and I want to shave, can I shave and look normal again?

Answer:
This is a very difficult choice, and this will depend on how many scars and how bad these scars are. It can take several sessions to hide. Although some companies may say that this is not a problem, this has not been our experience. It is best to email photos, and we will discuss your options. Many men are tired of hiding the scars, and want to shave their heads. This is fine, but results will vary, and the amount of sessions will vary. You will normally see a great improvement. Some scars are harder to cover, but tattooing will make these scars less noticeable, if done properly. If you email a photo, we can review your personal situation.

10. Is Artistic Hair Simulation a tattoo?

Answer: Yes, Artistic Hair Simulation and Artistic Hair Shading is a form of micro tattooing.. Together, this will give you a natural look for your new Headstylsm. Implanting pigment into the skin, by legal definition, is a tattoo, and should be taken care of like a tattoo, and although it can fade over time, as a tattoo, by legal definition is considered permanent, even though it can fade over time.

12. Are the inks the same as a tattoo artist uses, and are cosmetic inks dangerous?

Answer: A talented Artist will know what the proper inks to use are. Some Cosmetic inks work very well, and some tattoo inks work very well. Some Cosmetic inks can turn blue or green, and some tattoo inks can look unnatural. It is the Cosmetic Artist that must be qualified and know what inks and needles, and machines are appropriate. 13 . What will the healing process be like during the first month?

Answer: It can swell the next day, and your head will be very dark for a few days. After that, it will start peeling and flaking, so you may want to wear a hat. The flaking can last about a week. Once it flakes , the colour will be light or hazy. You can tell how it will look in about 4 weeks, and at that time you can get your second treatment. Peeling is the worst the first time. DO NOT schedule your treatment during important events. If you are in the entertainment industry, you can do this a little at a time so that it is not as noticeable during the healing phase. This is a tattoo, so you will have to follow all after care.
