A combined plan may fit if you want growing hair and a fuller finished look. Consultation is required for each part. Not everyone is a surgical candidate; HRS Atlanta decides transplant candidacy. We decide SMP design. Results vary.

- Women who may add grafts where donor allows (sides, temples, part), then SMP to reduce scalp show-through—especially on women’s sides
- Prior transplant patients who want density fill or scar camouflage years after FUE or FUT (often yes; bring history if you have it)
- Traction or patterned thinning where some areas may take grafts and others are better served by pigment
- Black and Afro-textured hair clients—our studio’s long focus—who want hairline artistry and pigment matched to coily hair and darker skin tones

Same building, Suite 300: 6065 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. By appointment only. That shared suite is the practical advantage of a true combo team: planning conversations, timing, and follow-up can stay on one corridor instead of stitching together unrelated SMP-only density after a transplant done elsewhere.

What each part does
What SMP does—and does not do
Hair transplant (HRS Atlanta)
Moves your own follicular units from a donor zone into thinning or bald areas. Growth is gradual over months. Graft count is limited by what can safely be taken from the donor area. Surgery, candidacy, and surgical fees are handled by HRS Atlanta—not by us.
SMP (The Hair Simulation Company)
Places tiny pigment deposits in the scalp to mimic follicles or add the appearance of density. Common uses in a combined plan:
- Between grafts to reduce scalp shine and the “see-through” look
- Along the hairline for a softer, finished edge
- Over healed donor punch marks or linear strip scars
- On women’s sides and part lines when surgery alone cannot fill every gap
SMP does not: grow hair, create unlimited density, stop future native-hair thinning by itself, or guarantee a look identical to any photo online. We will not invent graft counts, dollar prices, or outcome percentages on this page.

Recovery and sequence (plans vary)
This is a high-level outline, not medical advice. Your surgical team sets transplant recovery rules. Your SMP artist sets pigment timing after the scalp is ready.
- Shared planning — Call (404) 229-7372 (or start at hrsatl.com) and say you want transplant + SMP together.
- Surgical consultation — HRS Atlanta reviews donor hair, medical history, and goals; decides candidacy; quotes surgical fees.
- SMP consultation — We review hairline design, skin tone, hair-length goals, scar plans, and how pigment would support the transplant. Email a photo if useful: [email protected].
- Surgery and early healing — Under HRS Atlanta’s care. We generally wait until the scalp is fully healed and early growth has started before dense SMP in recipient zones.
- SMP sessions — Usually more than one session for layered density. Exact timing is set after we see how the transplant settles. Scar camouflage depends on scar maturity.
Some clients do SMP first (immediate density look or scar cover) and add a transplant later. Others reverse the order. The right sequence is personal. No specific result or timeline is guaranteed.

What makes a combined transplant and SMP plan different from SMP alone after a transplant?
In a true combined plan, the surgical team at HRS Atlanta and our SMP studio share the same Sandy Springs Suite 300 address and can coordinate timing, hairline goals, and scar plans. SMP alone after a transplant elsewhere can still help with density look or scar camouflage, but it is not the same as planning both parts as one team from the start.
Does SMP grow hair or replace a transplant?
No. SMP changes how the scalp looks. It does not grow hair, move follicles, or replace surgery. A transplant moves your own follicles; SMP supports the look between grafts, at the hairline, or over healed scars.

Can SMP be done right after a new transplant?
Not immediately in a fresh recipient area. We wait until the surgical team and our studio agree the scalp is ready—often after early growth has begun. Scar-camouflage timing depends on scar maturity. Timing is individualized.
